How many activities are there in the training forest?

In addition to practical training at the undergraduate level, depending on your research field, you will frequently engage in activities such as observation and sample sampling in the training forest.

Is the bark that is initially peeled off during sawing used for something?

The bark is burned in a boiler, and the resulting steam is effectively used as a heat source for drying the wood. Although it is not peeled at a sawmill, the bark of cypress is called hiwada and is used for roofing material. This is one of our traditional techniques.
